AP TEST RANT

Well today I took my second AP exam and honestly it could have went either way. After taking I don’t know like 7 practice AP multiple choice tests (which I failed all but 1) I think I did the best on today’s multiple choice. As a much better essay writer than multiple choice tester, I was very confident heading into the essay portion. Entering the testing room the argument essay was by far my strongest essay. When I opened my essay booklet and saw what I had to write, I was Shook-eth (#ApLang Memes). To summarize what I wrote for my argument essay which had to do with the unknown, I wrote about the following -Narnia -Stonehenge (the rocks seen in the middle of an island) - The time a regular walk in the park led to me finding a pond in my neighborhood I came into the test today feeling as if I was taking my final for my English class in college, knowing I will score well. After the test I felt like I was one of the 4 pieces of gum I chewed during the exam. I felt like I was chewed...

Individual Satire Reflection

For my Satire project my group and I made a spoof on the very serious issue of Drug Addiction. This topic is very important to me because I have lost some of my close friends to Drugs. Although, I have never participated in using drugs, I have friends who are simply addicted to them and I grew distant from them. This problem I believe continues to exist in society; because of the influence many of our role models tend to express their love or need for drugs. Many singers, rappers, tend to sing about their love for drugs and the constant abuse of certain drugs. I think my project did a great job of addressing the issue of Drug addiction. My group should the drug problem seen in school as well as on the streets. For the group, I wrote most of the group paper, helped act and record the video, and get whipped with a belt for the entertainment of my fellow classmates.

Rhetorical Analysis of "Shame" by Dick Gregory

Dick Gregory in his essay “Shame” clearly shows that poverty brings forth many hardships as well as a great deal of shame. Gregory, shows the hardships he faces by appealing to the reader's emotions, showing a strong sense of imagery, and a using a figurative word choice. Gregory, by descriptively showing what he had to go through everyday to impress a young lady named Helene Tucker, tugs on the strings of the reader's heart. Gregory in paragraph 1 lines 2-14 states “ I was in love with Helene Tucker… I went to school mostly to look at her… if the pipes were frozen I would run over to Mr. Ben’s store and stick my pot into the soda machine and wait for the ice to melt so I can wash my shirt… I would wear that shirt wet or dry because it was the only shirt I had.” These lines are quite emotional in the sense that many people cannot imagine how hard it must be to live the way Gregory lived. Gregory is seen getting sick in the winter just to explain Helene Tucker. Gregory in ...

six million

Sam Katzap Purpose: Explain how the Holocaust really happened Audience: Anti-Semites Six million, to most people is a huge number. Most people would want six million dollars, or six million puppies, but what about killing six million Jewish people. 72 years ago the worst tragedy in human history took place throughout Europe. Men, women, and children were ruthlessly murdered because of the religion they practiced. My family has personal experience living through these tough times. Living on the country side of Romania my grandfather Dr. Israel Katzap was only 5 when the war began, he had 10 siblings and his two parents struggling in the camps during 1941-1945. After the war my grandfather was left with just his mother and eldest sister totaling 9 family members murdered in the camps. The Holocaust was an absolute tragedy that sadly many people do not believe happened, and that must change. Antisemitism is a huge problem in this world that most political leaders over look. Antisemi...

All about sam katzap

It all started 15 years and 327 days ago when my mother in Northshore LIJ Hospital gave birth to a 22in 7.5lb baby named Samuel. At the time nobody thought Samuel would become president of his Jewish youth chapter or become a tennis player but he did exactly that. Living in a house with 2 sisters and being the oldest puts a lot of responsibility on your shoulders, because like my parents always say you have to "Lead by example". I think my sisters look up to me because I have gotten pretty far in life at the moment becoming a leader in my Jewish community and a "very talented" scholar athlete. I come from a Russian/Israeli background. I speak English and Russian fluently and I know parts of Hebrew but I am not able to carry a conversation. My family is filled with talented people in particularly one profession, Dentistry. My father, my uncle, my grandpa, my grandmother, my cousin are all or were dentists. Now you might ask would I like to be a dentist. Heck no b...
